Frequently asked questions.
How should I get there?
Although we are providing transport for people without vehicles during the wedding, we recommend renting a car, using Uber, or taking the train into town. It very much depends on where you are staying for the rest of your time in Chicago.
Will there be a transfer to the reception?
Yes, more details will be available closer to the date.
What accommodations are available for out-of-town guests?
Please see the accommodation page for hotel blocks on the night of the wedding. Outside of the 28th, please feel free to stay wherever you wish. You are not confined to staying in Tinley Park or Joliet either. If this is your first time Chicago, please feel free to stay downtown and explore!
What will the weather be like?
Chicago is a fickle place for weather. Sometimes September is extremely hot, and sometimes it’s very cold. We would recommend preparing to be hot in the morning and cooler after the sun goes down.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes, you can if your invitation specifies “Guest Name and Family”. We are only inviting close family children.
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony begins at 1:30PM. Please do not arrive more than 30 minutes before the ceremony begins. Please allow yourself enough time to travel to this location. This is a Sunday in a church that has mass until 12:30PM. We want to allow time for parishioners to leave the church and make way for our ceremony.
Where should I sit at the ceremony?
More details to come. First row is reserved for immediate family.
What time should I go home?
We encourage everyone to stay for the whole reception which ends at 10PM. There will be transport to the accommodations, but that will be fleshed out at a later date.
How do I know where to sit at the reception?
There will be place cards telling everyone where to sit.
When will we eat?
We will be eating at 6PM.
Can I bring a plus one?
If your invite says so, then yes.
How do I RSVP?
Please visit the RSVP page of this website. You can send your RSVP in through there. If something goes wrong and we do not receive your RSVP, we will be in contact with you in August.
When do I need to RSVP by?
We would love everyone to RSVP by August 15th.
What if I have a dietary requirement?
Please click the box in the RSVP form and describe your restriction.
Will you be serving alcohol?
Yes, we will have an open bar through the 5 hours of our reception including during dinner. We will also have specialty cocktails.
What should I wear?
We encourage you to wear formal clothing, and no white. The wedding party will be wearing dark blue, if you want or don’t want to match, please plan accordingly.
What shoes should I wear?
There will not be much activity other than dancing. So please plan your shoes accordingly.
Do you have a wedding hashtag?
Not yet, more details to come.
Can I take photos?
We recommend not taking your phone out for pictures during the ceremony, but please take as many pictures as you want at the reception.
Where can I find the photos afterward?
We will be setting up a Google Photos shared album where all the photos will live so everyone can see them.
Do you have gift registry?
We are not going to be doing a normal gift registry. We are having a furniture fund that you can donate to. We already have a house and we want to spend time in our early married life furnishing it to our liking.
Who should I contact if I have questions about the wedding?
If you have any questions, please direct them to Francesca Velcich at Frvelcich@gmail.com or (708) 267-0618. She is the Maid of Honor and will be more than happy to answer any other questions for you. If your question cannot be answered by her, she will ask the Bride and we will get you an answer together.
